Hi,
Does the pad on the underside of the AD7143 (QFN-like package) have to be grounded for the IC to work?
I have connected everything up except this pad, and the chip won't respond over I2C (no acknowledge bit).
Cheers, Geo

No, the pad does not need to be grounded for the part to work. However, the Vdrive input must be connectecd to a power supply to provide power to the I2C interface, prehaps this is what is wrong ?
Thanks for the info. Hmmm, no the Vdrive pad was connected properly. Must be another problem, but thanks for clearing that up anyway.
