voltage on AD7478 Vin pin

Question

Hello, 
 I am using AD7478 to measure the battery voltage and its working fine. 
 Problem is whenever i remove the battery (i.e leave the Vin pin of ADC floating), i get a voltage on 5 volts on Vin pin. 
 Is this a normal behavior? 
 I cannot use pull-ups or pull-downs on this Vin pin, because it will consume battery energy.
