AD7466 - Signal conversion with DC offset

Hi,

I am trying to convert a signal which on a DC offset. The offset is not so high that it will saturate to the DC rails. Do you anticipate any problems to this type of signal ? Will the ADC still do the conversion if it sees the signal levels change above the resolution of the ADC ?

Thanks in advance

  • Hi kbm10,

I think the ADC still converts as long as it is within the analog input range of 0 to VDD. I am not sure of your application but I may suggest you may take a look of the pseudo-differential ADC  (e.g AD7451). It has an IN- pin for the DC offset.
