AD7609 Control Pin

Dear ADIer

My customer is asking for pin configurations of AD7609 as below

1. For the BUSY signal, My customer want to have a enough delay time no to use Busy Input due to the lack of MCU port. Is it available? Of course datasheet strongly want to use this....

2. Is it ok to use CONVSTA and CONVSTB as tied in a single input?

3. It appears in the datasheet that you need to power up the chip and apply a high edge to the RESET signal once. Is this necessary? Is not it just a pull down?

    Hi BR,

Please see below response to the questions.

    1. For the BUSY signal, My customer want to have a enough delay time no to use Busy Input due to the lack of MCU port. Is it available? Of course datasheet strongly want to use this....

The BUSY would indicate the status of the AD7609 if it is already done converting or is still converting.  The falling edge of BUSY signals that data is available and can be read.
    2. Is it ok to use CONVSTA and CONVSTB as tied in a single input?

The CONVST A and CONST B can be tied together to have a single conversion start can be applied.

    3. It appears in the datasheet that you need to power up the chip and apply a high edge to the RESET signal once. Is this necessary? Is not it just a pull down?

A reset pulse is recommended on AD7609 after power up, this will ensure that the ADC is a known status after the initialization.

    Regards,
