AD7762 - Suitable FIFO buffer for interfacing

Hi,

Can someone please recommend a fast high-speed PARALLEL INPUT FIFO buffer with a serial output using SPI that I can use to interface with the AD7762 ADC?

I am looking for discrete components only. FPGA is not a solution for my case.

  • Hi,

May I know if it is a new design? If yes, I suggest that you can use AD7763. It is a serial output that would be I2S compatible and would avoid having to do the translation from parallel to serial. Devices are in same package and all the analog pins would be directly applicable with the digital pins changing for the change in interface.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

Yes for a new design, do you have any suggestions for any temporary memory storage components to store the digitized output of the AD7763 that can be used later? Can you specify some AD chips which can store the 32-bit output of this chip? 24-bit data plus 8 bit status of the data?

  • Hi,

I would like to ask more details about your system requirements so we could advise the most suitable solution.

May I know what is your applications and why does it require some FIFO/memory? A block diagram would be a good starting point, with power supply voltage, input signal voltage range, output data rates, number of channels and all channels scan time, and other target specs requirements.

May I know also the expected volume of systems per year and the SOP date?

    Thanks,

    Jellenie
