AD7124-4 datasheet capacitor selection

Hello, I'm looking to clarify the capacitor type recommended in the AD7124 datasheet, which states:

"Decouple AVDD with a 1 µF tantalum capacitor in parallel with a 0.1 µF capacitor to AVSS on each pin. Place the 0.1 µF capacitor as close as possible to the device on each supply, ideally right up against the device. Decouple IOVDD with a 1 µF tantalum capacitor in parallel with a 0.1 µF capacitor to DGND."

Should a tantalum be used for the 1 µF as well as the 0.1 µF? Or just a tantalum for the 1 µF and a ceramic for the 0.1 µF? Thank you very much.

    Hi,

    We used both ceramic capacitors for 1uF and 0.1uF coupling capacitors on the AD7124 evaluation board. Tantalum is much cheaper but I would suggest to use the equivalent in ceramic (X5R o X7R) as it has better ESR/output ripple.
