AD7988 - 1

Good afternoon....

I currently am using the above subject successfully in a design.  The power supplies are as follows: Vref = 2.5V, VDD = 2.5V and VIO = 2.7V - 3.6V.  Moving forward I would like to re-route the analog supply, VDD to track with VIO.  Can you tell me what implications I may be looking at by doing this?

As stated in table 6 of the datasheet the absolute maximum voltage rating for that particular supply (VDD) is 3.0V so you would have to ensure the power rail did NOT exceed this voltage otherwise damage would occur to the device.

Are you hoping to short the VDD and VIO rails or did you have a simpler supply circuit in mind that would be derived from the VIO rail?  The reason for my query is at the moment I do not believe we have data for the device performance outside of the 2.5V +/-5% specified.
