The doc sheet that came with the DC2395A-C states "alternatively, by connecting the DC2395A into a customer application, the performance of the LTC2325 can be evaluated directly in that circuit". How can I get more information? The docs include nothing about the DC2395A interface. One problem is that the recommended DC890B is severely limited in capability, being only able to capture 16384 samples. Also, it is extremely slow. Is there a more programmable device available that can plug directly into the DC2395A?
The DC890B is the only controller offered by ADI for the DC2395A. If you wish to interface DC2395A directly to your system, Apply power, clock and input signals to DC2395A as described in the Demo Manual and data will be output on D0-D15 of P1. Data is clocked out with CNVCLK and the channel being clocked out can be determined by FR0-FR2.
Great - very helpful! I see that the pinout for P1 is in the schematic. Is there a trigger to start the conversion or does it just run continuously?
With an input clock frequency of 110MHz on J9, the FPGA will provide a 5MHz clock to the CNV input of the LTC2325 and the DC2395A will continuously output data to the P1 connector.
