Question
I have a following problem with AD9956 evaluation board software. When the
program successfully connects to the board on USB, I'm getting an error message
: Run-time error '13' Type mismatch
This error occurs both on Windows XP 32-bit SP3 and Windows 7 32-bit SP1.
Answer
The AD9956 software as stated on our website will only run on Windows 98,
Windows 2000 or XP. It is currently not tested for Windows 7 though some
customers have sucessfully run it on Win 7.
The most common cause of "Run-time Error 13" to do with Windows and certain
conventions used in the US as opposed to Europe. One problem is the use of
decimal points (US) in place of commas (used in Germany
and some other parts of Europe). It is possible that you have your computer set
to recognize commas and decimal points differently than the AD9956 program. It
is an inability of the AD9956 eval program to recognize different Regional
Setting that are offered by Windows.
In order for the AD9956 program to function as intended, the user must first go
to his computer Windows "CONTROL PANEL" and then select "REGIONAL SETTINGS".
Change the settings to read "ENGLISH (UNITED STATES)". (Also the user will
need to use decimal points instead of commas when specifying frequency).
