I want to use each channel of the AD9116 as a completly separate DAC.
As far as i understand the datasheet, this is possible.
Or are they bounded together some how?

Yes..............each DACs can be loaded with its own unique data pattern with I data going to the I DAC and Q data going to the Q DAC.

An extra question, the auxiliary DACs included, are these also independent or have a dependency with the I/Q channels?
The two Aux DACs are associated with the I and Q DAC channels respectively and can be set independently via SPI registers as shown below.
