The component shortage had an impact on the supply of the EVAL-SDP-CH1Z. That supply constraint is now resolved but there is a backlog of demand to address. They will be come generally available again but I'm afraid I don't have any visibility on how many weeks/months that will take. Do you (or anyone at your company) have any customer-facing Analog Devices contacts? Perhaps they could assist in (accelerate) sourcing an EVAL-SDP-CH1Z?
Due to the delay in delivery of the EVAL-SDP-CH1Z (25 September 2023), we would like to test the EVAL-AD9117 via the AD-DAC-FMC interface to our MCU XU3 ultrascale. We are having trouble communicating with the EVAL-AD9117 via the AD971x/AD911x Evaluation Board SPI Controller, with the error message 'No USB devices found!'.
Can you please confirm AD971x/AD911x Evaluation Board SPI Controller only via DPG2 board?
Hi Douglas, I have asked for AD9117 specific help.
I do not think you will be able to use the standard evaluation software without the SDP-H1. In fact, the current evaluation software for the AD971x/AD911x looks to be ACE based, whereas the SPI controller that you have is LabView based. I think you will definitely need somebody with AD971x/AD911x experience to help here.
It is possible to prototype with the EVAL-AD9117 using an alternative FPGA, but the PIC on EVAL-AD9117 needs to be be reprogrammed and you would need to port the Xilinx ML-605 based example to your Ultrascale. SPI control of AD9117-DPG2-EBZ without the SDP-H1 thru the ACE should work.
