AD9106 DC constant output by run bit?

Category: Datasheet/Specs

WAV4_3CONFIG(Address 0x26) set to 0x0101 (DC constant mode), WAV2_1 CONFIG(Address 0x27) set to 0x3030 (pattern generation mode). If I want to enable the output of Wave4 and Wave3, do I need to set run bit=1? When Run bit=1, controlling the Trigger pin to trigger the pattern generation of Wave2 and 1, will it affect the output of Wave4 and Wave3?

  • To better understand please see sample below, I set DAC1, DAC2, and DAC3 at different conditions and show their behavior with respect to trigger.

DAC1: pattern generation mode and DACx_CST at default

DAC2: pattern generation mode and DACx_CST = start value from START_ADDR

    DAC3: DC constant mode

If I want to enable the output of Wave4 and Wave3, do I need to set run bit=1?

The DC constant value at WAVE4_3 when set to DC constant mode will reflect the value at the DAC output even without the trigger.

When Run bit=1, controlling the Trigger pin to trigger the pattern generation of Wave2 and 1, will it affect the output of Wave4 and Wave3?

As shown on the sample above, the Wave4_3 will not be affected when the trigger is toggled for pattern generation.
