AD9739 Multi chip Phase Synchronization

Thread Summary

The user inquires about phase-matching the analog outputs of multiple AD9739 DACs across different boards. The final answer indicates that the query was addressed offline. The accompanying answer suggests that the support engineer will review the synchronization scheme using a common clock and PLL (HMC7044) to generate the device clock and CLK/4 reference for the AD9739 DACs.

Hi!

I am planning to use Multiple AD9739(Across modules) and I need to phase match the Analog outputs of all the AD9739 chips.

In AD9739 DS, The synchronization scheme is similar to Figure1(Synchronization of Multiple AD9779, AN-822) but as my components are spread across multiple boards hence i cannot go with this scheme.

Is it possible to achieve synchronization by following Figure2 in which, I shall use a common clock(Phase matched) to all boards where a PLL(HMC7044 or similar) can be employed to generate the Device clock and CLK/4 reference to SYCIN of DAC9739(All are salves, No master)?

Thanks In-advance,

Deva
