    Hello,

    Our customer has trouble using ADS7-V2EBZ.
    The phenomenon is the following.

    Conditions
     ADS7-V2EBZ revision : D
     Evaluation board : AD9162-FMCC-EBZ
     ACE version : 1.26.3240.1417
     DPG-Lite version : 1.19.187.0

    Phenomenon
    - He connected AD9162-FMCC-EBZ to ADS7-V2EBZ.
    - Power on ADS7-V2EBZ and he could see the fan, which is mounted on FPGA, start to rotate and stop soon.
    - He connected ADS7 and PC with USB cable.
    - He started DPG-Lite.
    - SDPG-Lite starts and appears the following error dialog

     

    I have attached the error log.
    (I transferred some messages from Japanese to English.)

    It seems to be not found firmware file.
    But I think it is strange.
    Revision-D is a newer version, isn't it?
    Does the revision-D board need to update the firmware?
    I suspect this ADS7-V2EBZ is broken.

    Would you advise how to solve it?
    The customer needs to use ADS7 as soon as possible.

      Could you ask the customer to try configuring the evaluation board using ACE before proceeding with the DPG-Lite?

      The fan stopping upon power-up indicates there is no FPGA image loaded on the ADS7 board.

      From the DPG-Lite screenshot, it also shows that the Evaluation board was not properly detected.

       

       Configuring the AD9162-FMCC-EBZ using ACE should load the FPGA image.

      Here is the user guide as reference: AD9161/AD9162/AD9163/AD9164 User Guide (Rev. 0) (analog.com)

      After configuring with ACE, DPG-Lite should be able to detect the AD9162-FMCC-EBZ.

        Hello,

        I tried to configure AD9162-FMCC-EBZ using ACE but I could not do it.
        Because AD9162-FMCC-EBZ is not powered on before configuring ADS7, ACE can not find AD9162-FMCC-EBZ correctly. It is indicated as "AD9162-ADF4355-EBZ". Plug-In package for "AD9162-ADF4355-EBZ" is not available.
        (Plug-In Board.AD9162 was downloaded)

         

        For comparison, I changed ADS7 which the user had to another ADS7-V2EBZ(Rev.C) and I confirmed the ADS7 could find AD9162-FMCC-EBZ correctly. So I think the AD9162-FMCC-EBZ board has no trouble.

        I would guess the customer's ADS7-V2EBZ is out of order.

        Is there anything else I should try?

        Could you try installing the DPG Downloader from here DAC Software Suite Download (Rev. 1.3.77.154)

        I tried using the DPG Lite to do the same step done, I was able to replicate somehow the same response from the customer's side.

         

        After installation of the DPG Downloader from the DAC Software Suite, please try to update the firmware of the ADS7 using the DPG Downloader.

        Here is a sample image of a successful firmware update using the DPG Downloader.

         

        I hope they can use the boards properly after this.
        Please let us know if this solved the issue.

        We'll raise the error we encountered to the ACE team.
