I have a question from our customer about the instantaneous bandwidth of AD9164 and AD9166.
In the "theory of operation" of the datasheet, it is described as follows.
"The output can cover a range from 0 Hz to more than 9 GHz in 2× NRZ mode.
Mix mode can be used to access 1.5 GHz to around 9 GHz at a reduced device power consumption when compared to 2× NRZ.
The NCO can then shift a signal of up to 1.8 GHz instantaneous bandwidth to the desired fOUT."
"In the interpolation modes, the output can range from 0 Hz to 6 GHz in 2× NRZ mode using the NCO to shift a signal of up to 1.8 GHz instantaneous bandwidth to the desired fOUT."
These describe the instantaneous bandwidth as limited to 1.8GHz.
On the other hand, the bandwidth is indicated as 0.45 x fclk while using 2xNRZ mode in the table-34 of the datasheet. (He use complex mode)
So the bandwidth is calculated as 2.25GHz when the fclk is 5GHz.
Do AD9164 and AD9166 able to generate the signal which has 2GHz instantaneous bandwidth?
