I would like to be able to change the NCO for the AD9162 automatically instead of using ACE. I have about 14 frequencies I would like to test, but acquiring the data takes around 3 minutes. Receiving the data I then have to manually adjust the NCO. I glanced at the API documentation, but before I devoted too much of my time I wanted to know if what I wanted to do was achievable.

First of all, API is designed for just an embedded system and can't be used on PC.
then, for each NCO write you have to use at least one SPI command which gives you the dwelling time of at least 260ns if you use a 100MHz SPI interface.
If you are interested in the frequency hopping feature, you are better to go with AD9164 which has 32 FFH register to arm the DAC with 32 different frequencies.
Thank you for your response, I am not looking for frequency hoping at this time. I was looking for a way to automatically test the DAC out at different frequency. I am interested in what spurs we received at different frequencies.
