Conversion rate of ADC, Encode pulse timing and frequency

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: AD9054A

Hi Team,

In data sheet the minimum encode pulse width is 4ns that is 250MHz,and the maximum encode pulse width is 44ns that is 22.5MHz.

but the datasheet claims that the maximum and minimum sampling rate of AD9054a are 200MSPS and 25 MSPS respectively.

Can you help me to relate the conversion rate and the encode pulse width and frequency, for example for 200MSPS what should be the pulse width and the frequency of the encode pin.

Regards,

  • Hi

Thanks for your interest in AD9054A.

This indicates that while the AD9054A can accept encode input frequencies ranging from approximately 22.72 MHz to 250 MHz, its actual conversion rate is constrained to a range of 25 MSPS to 200 MSPS.

Can you help me to relate the conversion rate and the encode pulse width and frequency, for example for 200MSPS what should be the pulse width and the frequency of the encode pin.

To achieve a conversion rate of 200 MSPS, the encode clock must operate at 200 MHz, which corresponds to a pulse width of 2.5 ns for both the high and low phases of the encode signal.
