Missing Registers in AD9094-1000EBZ Plugin

Thread Summary

The user is unable to access the 0x1262 'PLL Loss of Lock Control' register on the AD9094-1000EBZ development board using the AD9094 plugin for ACE. The final answer confirms the issue and provides a workaround using ACE Macro to read and write to the missing register.

Hello,

I working with the AD9094-1000EBZ development board, connected with a ADS7-V2 FPGA.

The ACE plugin version I am using is Version 1.2024.43100

Reading through the datasheet for the AD9094, it appears the AD9094 plugin for ACE does not include all of the registers available for the AD9094 chipset.

In particular, there is a register 0x1262 'PLL Loss of Lock Control' that has both a 0x00 Normal Operation and a 0x08 Clear Loss of Lock setting that should be read/writable.

This register does not show up in my ACE screen. When I sort the registers by address, ACE skips from register 0x05C0 to register 0x18A6.
Is there a way to get full access to these registers?

Thread Notes

  • Hi

    Thank you for using AD9094 and apologies for the inconvenience.

    I have informed the ACE plugin developer about the missing registers in the AD9094 Memory Map. This issue is already in their pipeline and will be addressed in the next plugin release.

    In the meantime, you can access the registers not included in the memory map by using ACE Macro.

    Here’s a step-by-step guide:

    1. Open ACE and navigate to Tools and select Script Manager.
    2. Click New and select ACE Macro. This will open a new tab at ACE.
    3. To read a register, use the command: @Subsystem_1.AD9094-1000EBZ.AD9094: Evaluation.Control.RawReadRegister(0x1262);
    4. To write to a register, use the command: @Subsystem_1.AD9094-1000EBZ.AD9094: Evaluation.Control.RawWriteRegister(0x1262, 0x08);
    5. Click Play to execute the command.
