No captured data or plot by ADI

Hi,

If you can’t capture data, but everything else seems fine, most likely the issue is caused by the value of the number of samples that need to be captured - the number should be a multiple of the DMA bus width. For this design, capture minimum 1024 samples (the default 400 value IIO-Oscilloscope start with is invalid).

After a new part was replaced, ADI IIO Oscilloscope works. But I ended with "Unable to load DLL 'libiio.dll':The specified module could not be found" when I run Visual Analog.  I found a old thread and I tried all the options there,  I still got the same error.  Any hint? Thanks. 

P.S. I use MS Windows.

 Visual Analog doesn't find libiio.dll, but libiio is installed in the computer. 

When I used VisualAnalog, I did see the sample frequency is changeable parameter. Does that work by decimation?   

I was also told that sampling frequency is  changeable by a earlier thread  Sample rate changeable or not. 

If you guys can put an enhancement request, I will appreciate.  Thank you very much.

The max sample size I can get is 2097152, which is 2^21. How can I increase that sample size?  Is that the limit? If that's true, is that limited by the ADC board memory? Thank you again.

That property is read-only.

There are a number of settings that go into max buffer captures. Usually we don't configure the system to make them the physical maximum the board can do which is yes based on system DDR. However, there are a few gates to configure this. See here wiki.analog.com/.../libiio_tips_tricks

Update!

Problem solved by updating  libiio v0.10  to v2.3 https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/libiio/releases/tag/v0.23

The good news is that VisualAnalog also works with libiio v2.3. I was very very concerned until I tested it.

Error

iio_device_get_label not found

When I changed to a similar but newer PC and used Python to import adi module, I got this error. Found one old thread answered by you, but I did NOT find the solution. 

Do you know why?

ps. VisualAnalog works fine on the new PC. To add one more info, I can repeat this same error on another PC. Basically one one PC working for import adi.

The error points to the function iio_device_get_label not existing in the library it finds. My guess would be that it still using and older libiio version.

I am happy it starts working after updated to the newer version (2.3) but not the newest version (2.5).

I have one unrelated question. Do you know the voltage of the full-scale range of AD9213? In other words, how can I convert the raw code data to absolute voltage?

Hi Xifeng. The typical input full-scale voltage is 1.4V peak-to-peak differential. I can find what signal generator power results in full-scale output codes, but that will be including insertion loss of the balun, coax and connectors.

libxml is a dependency of libiio and will ship with the installers. However, it only gets installed if libxml is not already installed. Since you are rotating through versions you likely have a version mismatch. To fix the issue you will need to remove the libxml2 dll from System32 and then reinstall libiio.

Sorry for the late reply. I has been busy testing this ADC, because I gradually started to get useful data.

Indeed, this solved my problem.  When I tried it on a laptop, I ended with similar problems, but I have not figured out a libiio version works for both VisualAnalog and Py.  It is so pc and operation dependent.
