ltc2182 pin sense vref

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: ltc2182

hi

    i'm a student ,i have some questiona about  ltc2182:

1: When pin SENSE is connected to GND, the datasheet specifies an analog input range of positive and negative 0.5V. When pin SENSE is connected to VDD, the analog input range is positive and negative 1V. However, I only need a positive input, unipolar. What should I do?

2: Are both SENSE connected to ground and VDD internal references? If another voltage is used, is it an external reference? What is the function of the REF pin

                                        thank you !

Thread Notes

  • Hi  ,

Thanks for your interest in LTC2182.

1: When pin SENSE is connected to GND, the datasheet specifies an analog input range of positive and negative 0.5V. When pin SENSE is connected to VDD, the analog input range is positive and negative 1V. However, I only need a positive input, unipolar. What should I do?

The input is intended to be differential in nature. I suggest that it should be that your input is conformed in that manner. If you want to insert a single input, you can convert it to differential signals using transformer, balun, or high-speed amplifiers.

2: Are both SENSE connected to ground and VDD internal references? If another voltage is used, is it an external reference? What is the function of the REF pin

Do not connect the SENSE pin to GND or VDD, and directly connect an external reference voltage to the SENSE pin. As for the REF pin, it is there to check if the value of the internal bandgap reference is at around 1.25V.

    Thank you.

    Regards,
