Specifically, I want to use the AD9249 to sample the signal collected by the front end, and I need to determine at what time the signal is being collected, in other words, I want to be able to control the moment at which it is sampling. The current available control shown here in the available guide ((EVALUATING THE AD9249 ANALOG-TO-DIGITAL CONVERTER [Analog Devices Wiki]) doesn't have the external trigger you are looking for.

You will need to make a custom control yourself to provide this function.
