Why are two transformers used on the LTC2208 evaluation board for the signal input?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTC2208
Software Version: NA

The signal input on the DC854B evaluation board (the CMOS version of the LTC2208 ADC board) uses two 1:1 transformers on the signal input. I understand the second transformer has a center tap for providing a common mode voltage, but why is an additional 1:1 transformer (MABA-007159-000000) used prior to that?  Does that improve performance somehow?

The LTC2208 datasheet shows a single center-tapped transformer being used
