AD9238 wrong output

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD9238

Hi folks,

I'm facing issue with the AD9238 dual 12-bit ADC. The following settings I've used are:

REFT_A and REFT_B short with recommend decoupling circuit

REFB_A and REFB_B short with recommend decoupling circuit

VREF = 1V

SENSE = 3.3V

MUX_SELECT =  3.3V

SHARED_REF =  3.3V

DCS_DUTY_CYCLE =  3.3V

DFS_OUT_FORMAT = GND

OEB_A and PDWN_A = GND

OEB_B and PDWN_B = GND

Thus, the data acquired on channel B (blue) is not as expected, but channel A (green) is correct, as you can see at image below.

The left axis if digital value and x axis is point number.

  • Hi eavtech,

    Thanks for your interest in AD9238.

    Since the SHARED_REF is enabled, can you confirm that REFT_A is externally shorted to REFT_B, and REFB_A to REFB_B?

    Please check the measured voltages in REFT_A, REFB_A, REFT_B, and REFB_A. Can you provide schematics for better understanding of the issue?

    Regards,

    Xavier

  • Hi Jxav,

    thank you for supporting. Yes, SHARED_REF is enabled (short to 3v3) and REFT_A is externally shorted to REFT_B, also REFB_A shorted to REFB_B.

    What voltage should I expected see in REFT and REFB?

    Sure, below is the printscreen of AD928 SCH used on my board.
