About the duty cycle stabilizer of LTC2291

Hello

I am planning to use the duty cycle stabilizer function with the LTC2291.
Are there any disadvantages to using this?
Looking at the data sheet, it seems that the performance of SNR and SFDR is improved over a wide band and it is only an advantage.

I would be grateful if you could reply.

Best Regards,
Knj

  • The disadvantage is very minor.  There is a small pseudorandom charge put on the sample cap that is not completely cancelled. So if you have an input network that isn't settling, then you might see a degradated SNR, but only 1-2dB depending on the network.   If you have a clock that isn't 50% duty cycle then you are better off using duty cycle stabilizer.
