AD9683 dev board (with FMC connector) design files

Hello,

I hope that everyone is doing great.

I am writing to ask where I can find design files (schematic, layout, BOM) of the AD9683 dev-board with FMC connector.

Here (https://wiki.analog.com/resources/eval/ad9683-170ebz_ad9683-250ebz_ad6677ebz) I can see that there is a dev-board available with the FMC connector. However, looking at the schematic here (https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/evaluation-documentation/EvalAD9683_EvalAD6677_schematic.pdf) I see that it has the TYCO Z-PACK backplane connector.

Could you please point me to a location where I can access the required files? I would like to interface the AD9683 dev-board with FMC connector to a Xilinx FPGA dev board with the PCIe interface.

Many thanks in advance for any feedback.

Best regards,

Krzysztof

Hi Krzysztof,

Thank you for your interest in AD9683.

You can find the schematic of AD9683 eval board with FMC connector at wiki (EVALUATING THE AD9683/AD6677 ANALOG-TO-DIGITAL CONVERTERS [Analog Devices Wiki]) under Helpful Documents (ad9683_final_schematic_02_040310c.pdf (analog.com)).

Regards,

Meriam

  • Hi Meriam,

many thanks for your reply. Would you be able to share the dev-board layout with me?

    Many thanks,

    Krzysztof

  • Hi Meriam,

Do you know if this board (for AD9683-250) available to buy anywhere?

    Best Regards,

    Ömer.

    Hi Omer,

In the eval page of AD9683 EVAL-AD9683 Evaluation Board | Analog Devices, you may check the inventory in 'Buy' section for the availability of boards and option of vendor (i.e Mouser, Digi-key).

    Regards

    Meriam

  • Hello Meriam, thank you very much for the reply.

When I do what you have said, I see that those boards available from vendors (Mouser and Digikey) shown as boards with Tyco connectors and not FMC connectors.

And there is one more problem added to this: The interposer board, which is for matching between Tyco connectors and FMC connector,  is also not available anywhere.

I am having a hard time to overcome this combined issue to be able to evaluate AD9683-250 ADC.

    Best Regards,

    Ömer.

  • Hi Meriam,

Many thanks for sending that. Would you be also able to share with me the layout in *.BRD format?

    Best regards,

    Krzysztof

    Hi Omer,

We believe that the board available for purchase on this part at this time should only be FMC version. The HSC-ADC-EVALDZ controller compatible for tyco boards has been obsoleted hence board has been migrated to the one with FMC connector. I think the product image in the webpage was not just updated yet.

Can you confirm if your recent purchase was with the tyco connector and not the FMC version?

    Regards,

    Meriam

  • Hello Meriam,

Thank you for the comment. I did not purchase the board yet since I was not sure if there is a solution to the evaluation. I now have asked to one of the vendors about the board they have in their stock.

Also I see that there is availability in the Analog Devices own stocks when I look at the product page:

      https://www.analog.com/en/products/ad9683.html#product-samplebuy

Model Order from Analog Devices ARROW DIGI-KEY MOUSER RICHARDSON RFPD
    AD9683-250EBZ

    Production

    In stock: 20
     Select
    1 Available
    Buy
    4 Available
    Buy
But from this point, I also cannot check what is the actual board build of. Is there a way to check this also from the AD stocks?
Can I also purchase it from AD directly?
    Best Regards,
    Ömer.
