    Hi,
    
 
    Quite a time ago I evaluated the AD9070. Great converter! The outputs are ECL. When I look at the list of products now, it looks like ADI is moving away from using ECL (besides the Encode signal). My question is: why isn't ECL used anymore for the output signals?

      That's correct, we haven't done an ECL compatible ADC in quite some time, the AD9070 may have been the last.  CMOS process nodes dramatically increased the speed that can be achieved with a single ended interface for less power than ECL, and for even higher speeds ADCs have moved to LVDS and CML interfaces.   Let us know if you have any questions about moving from ECL for your next design.
