Before ordering the HSC-ADC-EVALDZ for my AD9250, I have question regarding the FIFOInterface Library used with Matlab.

Can we use the library with the HSC-ADC-EVALDZ?

    I do not see anything in the FIFOInterface Library that will work with the HSC-ADC-EVALDZ. I am not on the software team and I do not have information specific to AD9250, but we do have Matlab scripts that work with the HSC-ADC-EVALDZ.

    I have attached a sample Matlab script that works with a different ADC (AD9249), that interfaces to the HSC-ADC-EVALDZ, if that would help.

    Three dlls are needed for this Matlab script to work (regardless of which ADC is being used):




    If you have installed the Analog Devices ADC evaluation software VisualAnalog, you already have these dlls. A typical installation location (as it is on my PC) is:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Analog Devices\VisualAnalog\HadBoardApi.dll

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Analog Devices\VisualAnalog\HadSdpSupport.dll

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Analog Devices\VisualAnalog\sdpApi1.dll

    If you have not installed VisualAnalog, you can run this executable to obtain the dlls:

    You will need to modify the Matlab script to point to the location of the above dlls. For example, this statement in the Matlab script points to the location on my PC:

    NET.addAssembly('C:\Program Files (x86)\Analog Devices\VisualAnalog\HadBoardApi.dll');

    You will need to change the path to the location on your computer.

    You will also need to point to the location of the FPGA file you use for your ADC capture using the EVALDZ board. On my installation the Matlab script points to this location:

    fpgaFilePath = 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Analog Devices\VisualAnalog\Hardware\HADv6\AD9249_hadv6.mcs';

    Again, you will need to modify this line to match the ADC and location in your system.

    Because this script works with a different ADC (not the AD9250), the FPGA configuration in the script is probably not correct. Still, I hope that this helps you to at least start communicating between Matlab and the HSC-ADC-EVALDZ.

    If you have additional questions related to AD9250, we'll need to consult someone with knowledge specific to that device.
