    Hi Tarzan,

    I like your name!

Thank you for your interest in AD9609.

#1 For AD9609, you can apply DRVDD and AVDD in any order.
#2 If either AVDD or DRVDD (but not both) is applied, the part will not function (because it needs both supplies for operation), but there is no other problem I know of with applying voltage to just one supply.

    Thank you.

    Doug

  • Hi Doug,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

    I really appreciate your support.

  • Hi Doug,

Let me ask this question again.

One of our customer said that AD9609 become really hot when AVDD is turned off and DRVDD is applied.

(They told us that they can't touch the device due to the heat, probably over 70℃)

Could you double check if there is a power sequence?

(They are worried if there is a leak pass on the device)

    Best regards,

    Tarzan

    Hi Tarzan,

Yes, there is a power-down sequence. I apologize; I only addressed the power-up sequence before.

Do not remove AVDD with DRVDD powered up. Please power-down both AVDD and DRVDD at the same time, or power down DRVDD before AVDD.

    I'm sorry for the trouble.

  • Hi Doug,

    Thanks for your reply.

Let me ask something about your answer.

#1, You said there is not a power up sequence, I just wonder why power up sequence is not necessary, even there is a power down sequence. Please tell me what cause this issue.

(it would be great if you have any material to explain this phenomenon)

#2, Is there any plans to update the data sheet for this topic?

#3, You mentioned that DRVDD is powered down before AVDD.

But our customer worries if the device might damage, since the board is already fixed.

Can you estimate the time not to damage the device like the following figure?

    Best regards,

    Tarzan
