Consulting some questions about LTC2141-14

Hi,

There are some questions about LTC2141-14 that I want to ask.

1.As below,how to define these items:full-scale drift,gain matching,offset matching?

2.When using single end input, why does INL degrade, but the noise and DNL will remain unchanged. What factors will cause INL and DNL changed?

3.As you konw,LTC2141-14 is powered by 1.8V,but the input range can be 2Vpp, how to achieve this?

Thanks!

  • 1.  Full scale drift is how the full scale drifts over temperature. If the part gets hot the gain of amplifier stages change and the full scale will drift.  Gain and offset matching relate to how closely the two channels match each other.

    2.  In order to keep low power the differential clock receiver is somewhat current starved.  Since the current is less the performance suffers a bit.

    3.   For 2V input range, the inputs should swing from VCM – 0.5V to VCM + 0.5V. There should be 180° phase difference between the inputs. Since this is a differential voltage measurement there is 1V difference between the signals at one extreme, and -1V at the other extreme. Combine (1 minus -1=2Vpp) is 2Vpp of input range.
