AD9914 DAC calibration time

Thread Summary

The user inquires about the DAC calibration time with a 2.4 GHz system clock, requiring a minimum of 200 μs for the DAC CAL bit to be asserted. The final answer confirms this and states that there is no upper limit for the assertion time, making a 100 ms delay due to PC interface latency acceptable.

Hi. I have a question about the DAC calibration time.

We use approx 2.4GHz system clock, this means DAC calibration is time is approx 200us. This means i have to wait at least 200us between enabling and disabling the DAC Cal bit, correct ?

Does this delay have an upper limit ? Since i control the chip via a PC interface the register access is quite slow, propably 100ms between enabling and disabling the DAC cal bit. Is this a problem ?

Cheers
