No  DAC output in AD9959

Thread Summary

The user is experiencing no output signal from the DAC OUT pins on the AD9959 board, despite signals being present on the DAC FILTER OUT pins. The solution involves transferring 0 ohm resistors to the appropriate positions: R25 to R24 for DAC0, R22 to R23 for DAC1, R72 to R28 for DAC2, and R27 to R26 for DAC3. This configuration change switches the output to the unfiltered DAC OUT pins.

Hello AD community!

I am using the AD9959 board. My problem: I get output signal only from the DAC FILTER OUT, but no signal from the DAC OUT (this happens in each of the 4 available channels). I know that these output pins are complementary. How can I control (using the AD9959 Evaluation software) the fraction of output signal in each of the two complementary output pin?

Thank you so much in advance for any input.

  • Hi,

The default configuration for the AD9959 evaluation board is to have an output at DAC FILTER OUT. You have to transfer the 0 ohm resistors if you want to have your output at DAC OUT. The output for DAC OUT is not filtered.

    For,

    DAC0: Transfer R25 to R24

    DAC1: Transfer R22 to R23

    DAC2: Transfer R72 to R28

    DAC3: Transfer R27 to R26

    Best regards,
