When you use MAX17830, you need to pay attention to VDDU pin's protect circuit, normally you should use a schottky diode connected to a 5.6V TVS to the GNDU. You need double check the schottky diode's forward voltage is no more than 0.4V,so the VDDU pin can be protected in time.
