The LTC1799 part (Rev. E) and other silicon oscillators are resistor-based RC oscillators, meaning they do not contain any crystal or MEMs structures. Consequently, there are no moving parts within the IC. The packaging is moulded plastic, ensuring there are not air gaps inside the LTC1799.
