Is there any protection in case the battery is installed with reversed polarity?
Our RTC products, including the DS1307, do not have protection against the improper installation of a battery. If a battery is installed backwards, the negative voltage applied to the DS1307 VBAT pin will reverse polarity of our substrate and damage the die.
