Question about AD9910 DAC Compliance Voltage When Driving 50‑Ω Load

I have a question regarding the DAC output compliance voltage specification of the AD9910.

The datasheet specifies a recommended compliance voltage of ±0.5 V for the IOUT/IOUTB pins. However, in my application:

  • IOUT is terminated with 50 Ω, IOUT Current 20mA

  • The single‑ended waveform measures approximately 0 V to 1 V (about 1 V peak)

  • Despite this, no noticeable distortion is observed in the measured waveform or spectrum

Given this behavior, I would like to confirm the following:

  1. Does a single‑ended swing of 0 V to 1 V exceed the ±0.5 V compliance voltage specification?

    In other words, should this operating condition be considered outside the recommended compliance range?

  2. If the output voltage exceeds ±0.5 V, is the internal current‑source cascode likely to leave its compliance region, potentially degrading linearity?                                                                                        Or is there some practical margin that allows limited over‑swing without immediate distortion?
  3. For a 50‑Ω load, what is the recommended maximum single‑ended (and differential) voltage swing to ensure the DAC remains within its linear operating region?

    Although the device appears to operate without visible distortion at 1 V peak single‑ended,

    I would like to confirm the official safe operating limits considering temperature, process variation, and long‑term reliability.
