The ADRV9002 user guide states that "MCS is needed when an application requires deterministic latency among datapaths within one ADRV9001 device or multiple ADRV9001 devices."
My question is whether the MCS mechanism has any benefit for Latency determinism when only using a single RX in a single device. I only require that the Latency of the single RX channel is precisely the same, up to the resolution of the DEV_CLK period every time signals are processed through the transceiver. Does the MCS calibration sequence help to achieve this repeatable Latency? For example, the phase of the digital downconversion stages would not be deterministic but would an MCS sequence alone make this repeatable. Additionally, the Rx data interface would have to synchronize in the same way over every power-on and initialization with MCS.
