ADN2814 and Miller encoded data

Has anyone used the ADN2814 with Miller encoded data? See epxx.co/.../baseband_miller.html for a quick overview of Miller code. Is the ADN2814 suitable for this? If not, is there another recommended device?

    The CDR device doesn’t understand any specific encoding. It looks at transition density (See Frequency Acquisition pg 16, Harmonic Detector pg 17 and Optional Reference Clock mode pg 18.), Every CDR ever designed should be able to lock to Miller/Manchester/Ethernet encoded data provided it can support the effective bit rate.

    Since ADN2814 works with NRZ data, it should understand Miller Encoded data as NRZ at 2x the bit rate. Miller encoding ensures a transition in every other bit and the frequency content is fairly narrow.

    The testing of our devices with PRBS and NRZ patterns exercise a wider set of use cases than Miller encoded data and I can say Miller is a subset of the NRZ testing we do, but we don’t have a specific test item for Miller or Manchester code or Ethernet etc.
