USB connection on AD9522 evaluation board

Hi,

My customer has used AD9522 evluation board with AD9522 evaluation software version 1.2.0.

In the case, the USB Status is 'EZSSP-0'.

Recently, the customer purchased an additional AD9522 evaluation board.

The new AD9522 EVB only works with AD9522 evaluation software version 2.1.0 and the USB status is 'CYUSB-1'.

What is the difference between the two USB states ?

Can the customer connect the new board with EZSSP-0 ? What should the customer do ?

Thanks.

    Dear JH Shin,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. The EZSSP-0 versus CYUSB change is related to adding windows 64-bit support, and was forced upon us by the Cypress USB driver.

It is possible to go back, and you'll need the program found in this directory:

    ftp://ftp.analog.com/pub/CSS/Software/Support/USB_Programmers/

You'll need to select: "AD9520/22 (32-bit only)" in the programmer.

That said, I strongly recommend that you update the older board and use the newer software so that you have compatibility moving forward.

  • Dear Paul Kern,

    Thanks for your help.

I tried to go back using the ftp link above. but I could not set EZSSP-0 for the new AD9522 EVB.

My customer wants to connect the new AD9522 EVB with 32bit only and EZSSP-0.

Could you provide EZSSP USB driver for the new AD9533 EVB ?

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,

    JH.Shin

  • Dear Paul,

I can only download "USBEvbdProgrammerSetup2.1.0.4.exe" and txt files via the link above.

The attachment is all I can see on the FTP site.

Please help me how to download the "AD9520/22 Eval Board (32-bit only)" file.

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,

    JH

    Dear JH Shin,

I don't understand why you are unable to locate "AD9520/22 Eval Board (32-bit only)."

Keep in mind that it is further down from the "AD9520/22 Eval Board 3264-bit)." It's about 20 entries below the 32/64 bit one.

    Can you check again?

    Dear JH,

    > Please help me how to download the "AD9520/22 Eval Board (32-bit only)" file.

    It's not a separate file.

You need to download and install the programmer .EXE file. When you run it, you'll be able to select "AD9520/22 Eval Board (32-bit only)" and burn it to the EEPROM on the AD9520 eval board that identifies the eval board as a 32-bit AD9520 eval board.
