I'm designing Waveform generator with AD9102.
The datasheet shows clock input with LVDS driver.
However, I want to use normal TCXO for simplification.
Can I use TCXO for AD9102 clock source?
If yes, how to connect it?
It is recommended to drive the clock inputs of AD9102 using a clock distribution IC (like AD951x in the datasheet) for optimum performance, regardless of whether you're using a crystal oscillator or an external clock.
They act as a clock clean-up circuit to provide a low-jitter sampling clock since the raw output of a crystal oscillator is not clean as it has harmonics. These harmonics can modulate into and corrupt the output signal. They also help with driving the clock input by avoiding any unwanted loading on the crystal output.

Now I'm designing a low speed output, normal phase noise characteristics and cost efficient circuit.
In this case, I can not use normal TCXO or TCXO with LVDS output?
I know that using AD951x is the best way. But, I prefer to use TCXO for cost efficiency and circuit simplification
If your application does not require excellent THD or SFDR performance, you can use a TCXO with LVDS output.Just don't forget to terminate it properly by connecting a 100-Ohm resistor across and as close as possible to the CLKP and CLKN inputs.Best regards,Shine
