Hello All,
We are going to start a project of a sensor that should be used Capacitance Level Measurement.
The principle of capacitive level measurement is based on the capacitance change of a capacitor.
The probe and the tank wall form a capacitor whose capacitance is dependent on the amount of product in
the tank: an empty tank has a lower, a filled tank a higher capacitance.
Would you recommend the right choice for this project. I mean - ICs and etc.
Thank you.
Hi maxf75,
For this type of application you want to use one of the following devices. AD7745, AD7746, or AD7747 which are capacitive measuring devices. You can do a search for each of those part numbers on the analog.com website, or by using Google.
There are evaluation kits available for these parts as well. (http://www.analog.com/en/analog-to-digital-converters/capacitance-to-digital-converters/ad7746/products/EVAL-AD7746/eb.html , http://www.analog.com/en/analog-to-digital-converters/capacitance-to-digital-converters/ad7747/products/EVAL-AD7747/eb.html )
There is also an application circuit which might be helpful. (www.analog.com/cn0129 )
Hope that helps you get started.
