Need for FPGA-GPU parallel processing

I'm looking at a proposal whose overall goal is to reduce computation time for some advanced motion planning applications on robotic systems. New algorithms are part of the project, but a reduction in SWaP is also desired.

Are there any new, low SWaP advances in parallel computing, perhaps with FPGAs, GPUs or a hybrid solution?

  • Hi Andrew

The highest performance processors we are make are the ADSP-SC589.  There are a few variants with different features, including some with and some without an integrated A5 processor.  These days, FPGAs are usually considered the highest performance parallel processing fabrics.

I'm also aware of a startup company called Adapteva that focuses on massively parallel computing at low power, that might be interesting for you to look at.

    Regards

    Andy
