ADC recommendations

Hi Guy,

Are you looking for a quad or 4 singles single/ dual with muxed inputs to get to the 4 channels?

Also, what is # of bits required?

Dual without Mux: Can support only two channels.

Sorry - forgot the most important detail - 24-bit resolution. Any combination of single, dual, quad is ok. Preference is fewer ADC's.

At 24 bits and 2MSPS, we have two options:

1)  AD7760, 24 bit, 2.5MSPS SigmaDelta.  Single channel only, but it has a /SYNC input that will allow synchronization.

2)  LTC2380-24, 24, 2MSPS SAR.  Also single channel only.  These have a dedicated CONV input, so synchronization is straightforward.

We do not have any multi channel 24 bit converters that will hit 2MSPS

Thanks - this is helpful.  One follow-on question. We need to collect all the data and then transmit to a higher level controller via Ethernet.  My assumption is we'll use an FPGA to interface to the ADC's.  Do you agree - or are there any existing ADI processors fill the data collection need?

They might be good enough for what you want. Of course, more info would be needed if we need to do complete analysis
