The partner was MikroElektronika (MikroE) who has built an ecosystem of development boards and compilers for microcontrollers with the ability to add LEGO like blocks called “Click boardsTM to measure and quantify the world around you. What MikroElektronika needed was the best technology to keep pace with the needs of their growing customer base.
Analog Devices shares their technology and domain knowledge with MikroElektronika so it can be incorporated into one of the largest and fastest growing development ecosystems. This ecosystem enables users to access an expanding portfolio of technologies in a highly productive and easy to use environment.
Now our customers can achieve the best of both worlds by using over 50 Click boards that feature Analog Devices technologies within MikroE’s ecosystem. Users can also establish a bridge with other established processor ecosystems through mikroBUSTM shields. mikroBUS quickly connects new and existing ecosystems together, speeding the adoption of the latest products, as well as sensing, signal chain, and power technologies. Users can establish a bridge with other processor ecosystems like Arduino and Raspberry Pi though mikroBUS shields.
First, we will look at iCoupler® digital Isolation, which ensures trusted safety and data integrity for applications such as smart manufacturing, vehicle electrification, and digital health. Our isolation product portfolio is robust but evaluating all the options is no easy task. Historically, customers would consider our multiple RS-485 Isolation devices and evaluate the pro’s and con’s by reviewing datasheets or invest time trying to re-purpose our evaluation board for development. MikroE’s responsive and cutting-edge nature, allows us to work together to add even the latest products such as the ADM2867E Click Board. Another technology example within the Click board ecosystem is our software configurable input/output (SWIO) solutions, which allow any industrial I/O function to be accessed on any pin, allowing channels to be configured at any time. This means customization can happen right at the time of installation—resulting in faster time to market, fewer design resources, and universal products that can be implemented broadly across projects and customers. With options such as the SWIO Click board, the power of these programmable devices can be harnessed and even connected side by side with other devices to ensure they measure up to customers’ needs.
