communicate with AD5522 evaluation board via USB

Question

I'd like to program software running on a PC or microcontroller to control AD5522 on the evaluation board.via USB. Which USB protocol is used in the microcomputer on the board? (CDC?) 
 In addition, please let me know the document explaining control commands. 
 Of course, I understand that the AD5522 can be controlled via SPI. However, the USB connection is the easiest way for me.

 First of all, we understand that you want to build a software that will enable you to control the AD5522. 
 However we also want to understand why there is a need to do that because there exists already a customer evaluation software for AD5522 requiring a USB A to Mini B interface cable. 
 Please read the user guide of eval board of AD5522 on how to enable or disable USB interface in this webpage: User Guide for the AD5522 Evaluation board [Analog Devices Wiki] . 
 The software itself is found at the very bottom part of this webpage.
