Hello everyone.
I apologize in advance for any grammatical errors, as I'm using Google Translate.
I'm in the process of developing a matrix intercom system for use during concerts, broadcasts, etc. I'm looking for a suitable system for implementing an audio path in a beltpack.
The requirements include:
- 2 microphone inputs
- 2 audio outputs (can be mono)
- 2 I2S ports - EQ correction, compression, gating, sidetone, and mixing
- removal of interference/noise other than human voice (i.e., maximum speech clarity).
The entire transmission will be based on AES67 Ethernet, and the output from the audio section to the digital section will be via I2S. In the central processing unit, I plan to use a processor like the ADAU1466 to provide 32x32 audio channels via TDM from the AES67 module, plus several local audio inputs/outputs using an external ADC/DAC via I2S. This means the ADAU1466 would function as a simple matrix mixer without any unnecessary audio processing.
My question is, which ADAU would be best for the above requirements, especially noise/interference reduction? I've considered the ADAU1787, 1797, or 1861, but I'm not sure I'll achieve what I'm looking for. What are your suggestions?
