ADAU1977 problem

Hi,

Could you navigate me please or help to decide whether ADAU1977 is just a subject to replace (it’s hard to believe there could be a semi broken chip)

I observe -65db harmonics level from 1kHz signal even at -10dbFS on all 4 channels, but following the datasheet it should be -100db at least (expecting ~ -90db THD)
The harmonics level is ADC bias level independent at all. AC coupled source, differential and pseudo  differential input schemes were tried. Curiously that harmonics nearly momentarily drop to the expected level with -20dbFS input

The stand
ADAU1467 board with AD1938 and ADAU1977 installed.
FFT is connected to SPDIF of the ADAU1467 board.
All the registers are in the default state. No  ADAU1977 register programming is used.

AD1938 harmonics (on the same board) are nearly as expected, i.e. -90db at 1Hhz -2dbFS.
The signal source for the both ADCs is the same (the sine generator with -130db harmonics). So the signal quality is probably beyond the scope
But harmonics level on ADAU1977 is evidently too high.

I was under impression chips could be dead or alive without an intermediate state,
but state of this ADAU1977 is questionable.
Just replacing the ADAU1977 would be difficult enough and time delayed (ordering/delivery/etc).

Is there something known I could try/check or replacing is the right way?
