Exact behaviour of SSM6515 in MUTE and SHUTDOWN Modes

Category: Hardware

Hi,

I would like to clarify the behaviour of the SSM6515 in Mute Mode on the one hand, in Shutdown Mode on the other hand (just in case: I'm feeding PDM data into SSM6515). Specifically:
(1) Mute Mode :
a) In this mode, I assume the SSM6515 is still demodulating and processing the input PDM data, just the gain of the Amplifier is set to zero. And therefore, the differential outputs of the SSM6515 are both actively driven to 0V (with ref'ce to the SSM6515's Ground). Correct ?
b) Also, is it the case that setting dedicated configuration bit DAC_MUTE has exactly the same effect as setting volume control bits DAC_VOL to 0xFF (Description: Mute) ?
(2) Shutdown Mode :
In this mode, what is the state of the differential analog outputs ?
Are they actively driven to 0V ? Or are they just not driven (with ESD clamp structures between output and GND / (PVDD, which is internally gated hence 0V too ) ?
Thank you -
