I'm designing a portable/mobile circuit using MAX97292 to amplify the output of a DAC.
I need to keep the circuit the more compact as possible (this's one of the reason I'm using MAX9792 because it doesn't need large output filters its outputs).
I would also like avoid using active components between DAC and MAX9792 inputs if possibile.
DAC application note prescribe to put some high frequency filters and a DC blocking capacitor on its outputs. MAX9792 require an RC filter on its inputs (DC blocking caps).
I would like to undestand if such a passive network will fit the needs and if input levels are matching MAX9792 needs. So I decided to run a simulation (AC sweep between 20Hz to 20KHz).
This's the simulated circuit:
Of course V1 and V2 are the outputs of the DAC while the opamps on the left side are a simulation of the internal network of MAX9792.
The resulting simulated output is something like that:
I think is coeherent since all MAX9792 inputs (SPKR_In, HP_INL, HP_INR) all levels on -3.6dB (half the input level?).
To achieve such levels I needed to replace the recommended 40.2k resistors on HP_INL and HP_INR lines and put 20k resitors (like those on SPKR_IN)... is this correct?
Since caps prescribed for SPKR_IN, HP_INL, HP_INR inputs are required for the same purpose of those on DAC output is possibile to remove them?
They are fairly lower than those on DAC output...
