MAX9792 datasheet possibile discrepancy

Question

Reading MAX9792 datasheet I found a possibile discrepancy in application diagrams (pages 28 trough 31) in MAX9791 class D amplifier inputs channels are summed trough an R/C filter prior input pins. 
 The same schema is replied once (since is mono) in MAX9792 application diagrams. 
 I can understand the logic of doing so in MAX9792 because is a mono amplifier and summing right and left channel in this way will result in a mono channel, but in 9791 there's no need to do the same thing.
