AD1881A Replacement

Hello Elou,

We sold that part of our portfolio to Conexant decades ago now. They have since been bought out I think twice? Last I saw the new company was not responding and the web site went away. 

I think it is time to look for a new design.

What would be your recommendation for a newer replacement part with similar functions as the AD1881A?

Hello Charly,

Of the original Analog Devices portfolio we do not have anything. However, I asked someone from the old Maxim team to see if we not have something that came in on the Maxim catalog. 

There are a number of codecs but the AC'97 Soundmax was closely tied to a driver in a PC system. So I am out of my comfort zone to know what would work and has a linux or other Windows driver? Here is the list of offerings from the Maxim catalog:

I wanted to ask someone in the Maxim team who would know more but he is out with Covid for a few days.
